Founded in 1890, The MacDuffie School campus is located on a 254-acre greenery land in the heart of the Pioneer Valley, one of the most celebrated centers of education in the US and renowned for its mix of colleges, businesses, museums and thriving downtowns, with easy access to Boston and New York City.

MacDuffie’s teachers are highly qualified of which 77% are holding advanced degrees. Average class size is only 11 with low teacher-student ratio at 1:5. Teachers are able to give individual attention to students in the class.

MacDuffie is a rigorous college preparatory school whose mission is “to foster in all students the intellectual habits of mind, high ethical standards, and respect for diversity required for becoming effective individuals in their personal and work lives and moral and responsible participants in the world beyond”. MacDuffie nurtures students to be lifelong learners and global citizens of the world.

MacDuffie encourages students to go beyond the minimum requirements for graduation. Such explorations help students expand the skills they need to analyze problems logically and creatively, to develop appropriate problem-solving strategies, and to apply those strategies confidently and effectively – whether in academics, the arts, or athletics. The School’s integrated and interdisciplinary approach to learning helps students to comprehend the broad connections among subjects; at the same time, they are learning discrete information in each academic discipline.

MacDuffie has formed partnership with some of the world’s best colleges in Massachusetts. MacDuffie’s students had the opportunity to assist researchers in the top ranked Polymer Science and Engineering Department of UMass Amherst last year. In addition, MacDuffie also signed guaranteed admission agreements with Wentworth Institute of Technology and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
