Parents concern the accommodation arrangement for their children studying overseas very much. For students under 18 years old not living with parent or close relatives locally, they can stay in the school’s boarding house or living with Homestay family. For students over 18 years old, they can choose whatever accommodation they like.
Boarding School Many schools offer boarding accommodation for students. Schools are responsible for boarders’ welfare and pastoral care.
Homestay Students are placed in carefully selected Homestay families. They have a chance to experience the Australian lifestyle and culture. Homestay families are usually close to the education institutions. The family will provide accommodation and meals for students.
Student Hostel Student
hostels are usually run by private or religious organization with or
without meal plan. Kitchen, bathroom and recreation facilities are
shared by students.
Rental Accommodation Students
over the age of 18 can rent property in the local market. In general, a
deposit equal to 4 weeks rent is required to pay in advance. Rental
for unfurnished apartments are more common.
University Accommodation Most
universities provide accommodation for students in university
apartments, residential colleges and/or halls of residence. Costs are
varied subject to accommodation.
