University Transfer Program

As credits are transferrable among colleges and universities in the BC Transfer System, students can join either the 1st year or 2nd year of UTP at Alexander College.  Alternatively, students may transfer the credits to other BC colleges and universities after completing the 1st year or 2nd year of UTP at Alexander College.  The UTP pathway offers the greatest flexibility for students to complete the bachelor degree in 4 years’ time.

Associate Degree Program

With a selection of 80 different modules, the 2-year Associate Degree Program (ADP) at Alexander College is designed to provide a broad-based knowledge and experiences for students in preparation for entering the workforce, or as a foundation for further undergraduate study.  Alexander College offers Associate of Arts Degree and Associate of Science Degree.  In the Associate of Arts Degree, students may also choose their major in Business, Economics, Psychology and Sociology.  Upon completion of the Associate Degree, students should be able to transfer to the 3rd year of bachelor degrees in colleges and universities including the highly sought University of British Columbia (UBC) and Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Vancouver under the BC Transfer System.  Students may also apply credit transfer to other non BC Canadian universities or universities in other countries.

Associate Degree is a standalone qualification in Canada.  International students completing the Associate Degree are eligible to apply for the Post-Graduation Work Permit and work in Canada freely.

English for Academic Purposes

Alexander College also offers English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program with an aim to develop students’ academic study skills and to upgrade their English level for future academic studies. The program is taught in 5 levels, each of which may be completed in one semester of study.  Students are able to take academic modules in the last two levels of EAP studies.  The academic modules will count into the credits towards UTP and ADP studies
